Private Wound Care at TT Medical Clinic

Our private wound care service provides timely, clinician-led assessment and treatment for patients who need support with a wound but may be unable to access the most appropriate service quickly.

You may have undergone surgery overseas or through a private provider and be unable to travel back to your original surgeon for review. Alternatively, your wound may not require emergency treatment at A&E, but you may feel that waiting for a routine GP or community nursing appointment is not appropriate.

TT Medical Clinic can help bridge this gap by providing urgent wound assessment, ongoing dressing care and, where suitable, complete wound management from initial assessment through to healing.

Who Is This Service For?

 

Our wound care service may be suitable for:

​

• Patients recovering from surgery performed overseas or some distance from home

• Patients who cannot easily return to their original surgeon or treatment provider

• People who are concerned about a surgical wound but do not believe it requires emergency care

• Patients requiring regular wound reviews or dressing changes

• People with wounds that are slow or difficult to heal

• Patients who would prefer timely access to a private wound care service

• Anyone requiring professional advice about the condition of a non-specialist wound

You do not need to have undergone surgery abroad to access our service. We are happy to assess enquiries relating to a wide range of wounds, provided they can be safely managed within our clinic.

What Types of Wounds Do We Treat?

​

Depending on the findings of your clinical assessment, we may be able to support you with:

​

• Post-operative and surgical wounds

• Wounds following cosmetic or elective surgery

• Wound breakdown or delayed wound healing

• Minor wound infections

• Open or discharging wounds

• Minor cuts, grazes and skin injuries

• Dressing changes and ongoing wound monitoring

• Removal of suitable sutures, clips or staples

• Difficult-to-heal wounds requiring additional support

We keep a selection of professional wound care products and dressings within the clinic. Where a more specialist dressing is required, we can usually arrange for this to be ordered promptly.

We are unable to manage wounds requiring highly specialist hospital-based treatment, such as negative-pressure wound therapy or VAC systems, complex surgical intervention or inpatient care.

When Should You Choose TT Medical Clinic?

​

Our service may be appropriate when you need your wound assessed promptly but:

​

• You cannot return to the surgeon who performed your procedure

• Your original treatment provider is located overseas or a considerable distance away

• You are struggling to access a timely GP or community nursing appointment

• You are uncertain whether your wound is healing normally

• You need regular dressing changes or closer monitoring

• You would like continuity of care with an experienced clinical team

Our practitioners have many years of nursing and clinical experience and will provide an honest assessment of what can safely be managed within the clinic.

Support for Difficult-to-Heal Wounds

​

Some wounds take longer to heal because of their location, the type of surgery performed, infection, poor circulation or other health-related factors.

Alongside appropriate wound cleansing, dressings and monitoring, we may be able to discuss additional supportive treatments in selected cases. This may include complementary regenerative treatments where clinically appropriate.

These treatments are not a replacement for established medical wound care and will only be considered following a full assessment, with patient safety remaining the priority.

Infection and Clinical Complications

​

We can assess wounds for signs of infection and may be able to manage minor or early complications within the clinic.

However, TT Medical Clinic is not a replacement for emergency or hospital care. If we identify signs of a serious infection, sepsis, significant tissue damage, wound dehiscence requiring surgical repair or another complication that may require imaging, surgery or intravenous antibiotics, we will advise you to attend the appropriate NHS or hospital service.

Where necessary, we will clearly explain our concerns and support you in accessing the most appropriate onward care.

First Aid and Minor Injuries

​

We may also be able to provide assessment and first aid for certain minor injuries, depending on practitioner and treatment-room availability.

We do not operate a guaranteed walk-in service. Anyone requiring first aid or same-day wound care must contact the clinic before attending so that we can confirm whether we have the capacity and appropriate clinician available.

For serious injuries, severe bleeding, suspected fractures, loss of consciousness, breathing difficulties or other emergencies, please call 999 or attend A&E.

Where possible, our clinical team will advise whether your wound appears suitable for assessment within the clinic and arrange the earliest appropriate appointment.
